If you ever get the chance to visit Rome and go inside St Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Museums, do so. It's amazing stuff.

2017-04-02 Rerun commentary: St Peter's Basilica is pretty easy to visit because, as stated in the comic, the doors are always open[1], and the interior space is so big that crowds of tourists don't really fill it up.

The Vatican Museums, on the other hand, are crowded and require queuing for hours to get into. Worth it though.

[1] I don't know if this is literally true. I guess they might lock it up late at night or during special events or something. <google...> In fact, the Vatican web site states that it is "open every day from 7.00 to 19.00, April to September and from 7.00 to 18.00, October to March." Okay, well, it's been open every time I've gone there.
