2 Tatiana: Hello, James.
3 Stud: Oh! You must be...
3 Tatiana: My friends call me Tania.
4 Stud: Hello, Tania.
4 Tatiana: But you can call me Tatiana.

The building visible through the window is of course the Blue Mosque. I presume that it's visible from every hotel window in Istanbul, in the same way that the Eiffel Tower is visible from every single hotel room in Paris.

2024-08-10 Rerun commentary: I knew a Tania back when I was in high school. It was only after we'd left school that I discovered her given name was actually Tatiana, but when her family emigrated from Russia they decided to adopt more Western European sounding names to avoid standing out as unusual. I thought that was a bit of a shame, especially as I think Tatiana is a lovely name.
