In the movie Tron (basic plot previously described in the annotation for #5187), three of the video games that Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges's character) had programmed were Space Paranoids, Matrix Blaster, and Light Cycles. Space Paranoids is seen in the arcade he runs, and the enemy ships in that game appear as enemies in the cyberspace that he later finds himself in. Matrix Blaster is a game that is mentioned only briefly and never shown, although there is a neon "Matrix Blaster" sign visible on the wall at the reopening event of Flynn's video game arcade.

Light Cycles is a game where combatants ride motorcycles on a square grid, leaving behind trails of solid light that form deadly barriers. The idea is to trap your enemy so that they crash into a light barrier before you do. It is shown being played in Flynn's arcade, and forms a major sequence in cyberspace when Flynn's avatar is forced to play a version that would be really deadly to him.

Disc Wars is not a real world game (in the movie), but only appears as a cyberspace contest. Two avatars are placed in a room and fling Frisbee-like discs at one another, attempting to hit them, or one of multiple concentric circular floor plates that they are standing on. They can use their own disc as a shield. If a disc hits a floor ring, that ring disappears, leaving an annular pit that the avatar could fall into. If too many rings disappear, the avatar's movements are severely limited.
