2012-01-16 Rerun commentary: In retrospect, of course they use tapes to back up data. It was a long time ago, after all.

Or perhaps it's just old terminology. They still use the word "tapes" even though the physical medium has moved on to memory crystals or whatever, in much the same way as people still talk about "dialling" a phone number, even though nobody has had a phone with a dial on it for decades now.

Or have they?
