Information on cheek kissing in Russia on the net is a bit contradictory, so I'm not entirely sure how common this actually is. It does seem as though it might be reasonable though, which is good enough!

And anyway, maybe Dr Ginny Smith is just pretending...

2019-10-13 Rerun commentary: Ginny's accent and grammar seems to change depending on how much she's trying to hide or emphasise her Russian background. Which is actually sensible, when you come to think of it.

The background photo I used in the second panel is, I think, a steep laneway in Rome? Maybe?
