I need to give my pirate ship a good dusting. That's the only problem with having big complicated LEGO models like this lying around the house.

2016-05-07 Rerun commentary: Okay, maybe not the only problem. The other main problem being that after a while there's nowhere to put more big complicated LEGO models.

This (well, actually the previous Pirates strip) is the beginning of a sequence of Pirates strips loosely based on the film Pirates of the Caribbean, which was released in 2003, a few years before this strip appeared. Surprisingly, I hadn't raided the film for more direct inspiration before this story arc.
