Comic #1650

1 {scene: A pitch black tunnel, somewhere deep under the Orcrift Mountains.}
1 Alvissa: Those idiots. Running off in a pitch black tunnel where it's impossible to tell where anyone else is, and so inevitably getting lost.
2 Alvissa: The great elven philosophers have a lot to say about times like this.
3 Alvissa: "Fools rush in..."
4 Alvissa: Well, it goes on for thirty volumes, but that much generally covers it.

Early on, Alvissa spent some time talking about elven philosophy, but hasn't done so for almost 1600 strips.

2017-11-29 Rerun commentary: One might plausibly question the wisdom of speaking aloud to oneself when lost in a pitch black tunnel in a high fantasy world full of monsters and evil humanoid races.

That one might not be Alvissa, though.
