4 Dwalin: Can ye thunk of a be'er one? {translation: Can you think of a better one?}

2018-09-08 Rerun commentary: Clearly I got ahead of myself with the rerun comments in the previous Fantasy strip. Of course Dwalin had a perfectly good excuse reason for (apparently) fleeing from the orcs.

This shows one of the tenets of writing an ongoing humour story. If one of the characters does something stupid, or that they said they'd never do, or changes their mind about something, or does something completely uncharacteristic for them: have one of the other characters call them out on it. Don't just let the audience think you made a mistake*. And as a bonus, having another character call out the uncharacteristic behaviour gives you the opportunity to come up with a funny reason why they did it.
