2 Jamie: Hey Adam, I wonder if we'll just fall through this dark hole in the Infinite Featureless Plane of Death forever.
3 Adam: That'd be interesting. We'd reach terminal velocity, and never hit anything. I wonder how we'd die.
3 Jamie: Thirst, I expect.
4 [sound]: SPLASH! SPLASH!

Adam has temporarily forgotten that they're already dead. I tried to word the dialogue differently to avoid this tiny problem, but it ended up far too long and clumsy.

2018-10-11 Rerun commentary: Of course splashing into something is not necessarily relief for dying of thirst.

Salt water would be pretty bad, since you could float on it, but drinking it would dehydrate you.

There are other liquids that you could splash into which would kill you before you could die of thirst. Acid. Petroleum. Boiling oil. Liquid nitrogen.

And then there are liquids that would probably simply kill you on impact. Lava. Mercury. I imagine falling into a pool of mercury would be very similar to falling into a pool of hardened steel.
