Part Water is a classic spell from Dungeons & Dragons.
You can make the rather mundane names of spells in roleplaying games more interesting by rendering them in Latin. Here are a couple of lists of Latin spell names for wizard and priest spells.
Imagine smiting your foes with an Iaculum Fulmen. Now that's cool.
You can even just use Latin-sounding gibberish. If nobody really knows what it means, does it make any difference as long as it sounds cool?
Reader Luca A. wrote to mention that the original German roleplaying game Das Schwarze Auge has been using Latin (or pseudo-Latin) spell names since 1984.
