Comic #3788

1 Lambert: "Made in Japan" is written on the bottom of the figurine? Where's Japan?
2 Alvissa: It's a large group of islands across the Great Sea of Storms. They have interesting customs there.
3 Alvissa: Practitioners of a craft called "origami" devote years to making miniature animals and figures out of paper.
4 Lambert: What for?
4 Alvissa: Well, it increases their artistic abilities manyfold.

The words "manyfold" and "manifold" look very similar, and have related meanings:

"Manyfold" means "by many times" or "many times over".

"Manifold" means (among several other meanings[1]) "multiple" or "numerous".

So you could have manifold (i.e multiple) practice sessions, to increase your skill level manyfold (i.e. many times over) - but not the other way around.

[1] The most interesting other meanings are the mathematical one, the engineering one, and the comic book one.
