I wasn't sure if "perv" was purely Australian English, or if it would be understood by English speakers from Britain, the USA, and elsewhere. Looking it up, I didn't find any indication that it was local to Australia, or to the Commonwealth, so hopefully everyone understands the punchline.
I think the reason I thought "perv" might be an Australianism is that I can't recollect ever hearing the word in American media.
