I've been fudging the background sets for the pirates for some time, because I deconstructed the pirate ship a few years ago, as I don't have a place to put it where it won't gather dust and get ridiculously hard to clean. It took me some time to pull it apart, because I had to use bristle brushes to clean almost every piece before putting them away for storage. I still haven't bothered reassembling it, because I don't want to have to go through all that again - and I still don't have a good place to store the constructed ship.

The photo in the first panel is a photo of the ship I found siting in a folder on my computer. Fortunately I was prescient enough in 2011 to take some shots of the ship against a neutral background, so I could Photoshop in whatever background I wanted. Unfortunately I wasn't prescient enough in 2015 to remember that I'd done so when I restarted making the comics.
