The photo I used for the haunted castle here is actually one I took of the Limburg Cathedral, in Limburg an der Lahn, Germany.
It looks very moody and appropriately spooky in the early morning mist. Later in the day it takes on a much less malevolent aspect:
Even though it's a cathedral, the architecture would still make a pretty good vampire castle.
