I started looking for stuff to write about rangers, and I ended up on a wild Wikipedia-walk exploring deep into the back-story of The Lord of the Rings. I just learnt some very weird stuff that I had no idea about. Namely that Middle-earth was originally a flat world, and only became spherical after the catastrophic destruction of the land of Númenor that was caused by Sauron.
I honestly had no idea about this until just now. That's really bizarre.
