2012-04-04 Rerun commentary: Wow. There's a very specific period in history in which this joke could have been written. A couple of years earlier and it would have been too early for the whole charity ribbon thing that has taken off like gangbusters in the past decade. While now, on the other side, it's almost certainly too late to be making jokes about typewriters with any hope that they might be current.
In fact, I'd bet someone out there reading this right now is too young to know what a typewriter is. Here you go.
Oh, and notice the neatly folded ribbon? The Charity Collector Guy is clearly some sort of expert at origami.
