Yes folks, you wondered where this expression came from. Now you know!
Normally the "camera" in a fictional video or comic scene is invisible, in the sense that the characters in the story have no idea that they are being captured for representation to an out-of-universe "viewer" of their story. When filming movies or TV shows, the director and camera operators take pains to ensure that artefacts of the cameras, such as shadows or reflections, are not visible in the scene.
Here, however, we can see the shadow of the camera on the lower left of the first panel!
