Believe it or not, those last two panels were the most difficult to make. You try taking photos in a pitch black room.
I have no idea what that plan might have been, but I like the implication that he definitely was thinking of something.
Philosophical question: If you're on an Infinite Featureless Plane, can you go anywhere, or is any locomotion ultimately futile and effectively the same as not moving?
