2017-01-22 Rerun commentary: Sometimes three panels is enough. I've usually stuck with four panels throughout the run of this comic, but occasionally the joke can be delivered with just three lines of short dialogue, giving me the room to expand each panel. Since the panels scale both horizontally and vertically, the space available for dialogue shrinks if I don't change the standard comic dimensions.

By the way, the way you can tell the Martians apart is by the amount of patterning on their faces. It scales roughly with intelligence.
