In contrast to Isaac Newton, Lewis Carroll spent much of his life at that other great English establishment of learning, Oxford.
Being the oldest university in the English-speaking world, it has an insane number of famous alumni. Including of course Jay Gatsby, James Bond, Fox Mulder, and Charles Xavier.
Compared to Oxford's list of illustrious alumni enumerated above, Cambridge can boast Lemuel Gulliver, Messrs Darcy and Wickham, quite possibly Sherlock Holmes[1], and... uh... Jonathan Quayle Higgins III.
[1] Although it's never stated explicitly in Doyle's canon, there are enough hints that Holmesian scholars generally consider that Holmes most likely attended Cambridge.
