And no complaining this time about me sucking away hours of your time by sending you to TV Tropes. That link should have been blatant enough warning.
It's a bit like one that is common here in Australia: "colourful racing identity". The "racing" refers to horse racing, and the phrase invariably refers to some horse trainer who may allegedly have links to the criminal underworld. Not that I'm accusing any colourful racing identities, mind.
