1 Spanners: Hey, I just checked the result of the Galactic Cup Final between the Rubilith Reds and the Acropolis Titans, to confirm we're in the right timestream.
2 Iki Piki: And?
3 Spanners: Turns out it was a draw. First time in history.
4 Serron: Dang! I should have put money on that! The payout odds were a million to one!

We all know what happens with million-to-one odds.
In realistic terms, of course, no bookmaker would ever offer odds that long, even on things they are sure won't happen. Mainly because the odds of the opposite outcome would need to be quoted to provide a payout of less than $1,000,001 for a $1,000,000 bet (i.e a million-to-one-on) and the bookmaker would need to get at least as many people taking up that bet as the million-to-one bet in order to be guaranteed to turn a profit if their "sure thing" turns out to be wrong. Which just ain't gonna happen.
