I should still be in Paris as this, the final filler strip, goes up. Again, like in Rome, we have hired an apartment rather than book a hotel room. I've never been to Paris, nor anywhere in France at all, before. So it should be interesting! I think there's probably too many museums to see in just over a week, though, alas.
Apparently the Louvre has a good collection of Egyptian antiquities. Jean-François Champollion[1] himelf was the first curator of the newly created department of Egyptian antiquities at the Louvre from 1827. I'm quivering with excitement at the prospect of seeing this stuff!
