Pole arms were originally improvised weapons made by peasants by taking various farm implements and attaching them to the end of a pole. This turned out to be surprisingly effective, mostly because of the increased reach such weapons had.
So... if a pole arm is a weapon attached to a pole, and a pole arm is a weapon...
Logically you could attach a pole arm to a pole and have an even better weapon!
(I dare any Dungeons & Dragons players to try this in a game and argue sincerely with your DM that this would work and grant a bonus.)
