I almost accidentally used blank verse here
instead of free verse.
But as I (re-)discovered
when I looked it up,
blank verse actually has a
rigidly defined structure, whereas
my intention was to refer to the completely unstructured form of
free verse.
Though, apparently,
some poets argue that free verse is not
completely
free - it is only "free" in
the sense that you don't
have to follow any rules
at all.
I dunno,
that seems
pretty free to me...
