It took me some time to find a suitable war for Minnesota Jones to have served in. The First Boer War was just a little bit too late. The Anglo-Zulu War was good in terms of date, but the images of it from various films have scarred me on that one. I suppose the same would be true of the Afghan Wars if I knew more about them, but at least it makes me feel a bit less squeamish.
