Speaking of things with the same name, following on from yesterday's comic...
Alexander the Great founded a lot of cities across Asia Minor, Central Asia, Eastern Europe, and Northern Africa. Being the humble man he was, he called them all Alexandria.
Some of the names mutated slightly to fit in with local language and naming conventions, and some have drifted more across the years, but there are still a disturbingly large number of places named Alexandria.
Add to that all of the other, newer places named Alexandria across the world by later place-namers, and there are plenty to choose from. There's even a suburb named Alexandria in my own city.
