I know it's an artefact of the USA having the relatively large number of fifty states, but I'm always amused when people express how "big" Texas is.
I live in the state of New South Wales, which has an area of 801,000 square kilometres, some 15% larger than Texas. And New South Wales is one of the small states of Australia.
A cattle station is the Australian/NZ term for a big farm where cattle are raised. The American English term is a "ranch". The largest cattle station in Australia is Anna Creek Station, which covers 23,700 km2. You could almost fit 30 of them into Texas, so Steve is in fact exaggerating a tiny bit here.
