At 1930s aeroplane speeds, it's about 3 hours flying time from Luxor to Alexandria, so they have a bit of time to negotiate.
It'll be about another 5-6 hours of flying time from Alexandria cross the Mediterranean to Çanakkale in Turkey.
Assuming they have enough fuel. Gosh, now why would I mention that?
