People who know a lot about stuff are always suspicious.
Why does your doctor know so much about disease and death, anyway? They're clearly up to something. Why do accountants know so much about your money? What is your dentist doing with your teeth? Do you have any idea?
Actually, how often do vampires need to get a dental check-up and clean? Dental hygiene should be a pretty important thing for a vampire. Imagine the flossing... "Ouch! Dang, did it again!"
