I've already talked about the legendary Valves of Mithril, and now finally, here they are. They look a bit unimpressive in the adventure illustration.
But the room that holds the Valves is the Wondrous Foyer! It has six steps leading up to the doors, each made of a different stone. From the bottom: onyx, pink marble, lapis lazuli, black marble, yellow serpentine, and malachite.
Astute adventurers might suspect that the stones and their particular sequencing is some sort of puzzle, to be tackled with many minutes of profound thought.
Astute adventurers would be wrong!
