By this point, anyone who took the sceptre from the Silver Throne might be expecting that since it's necessary to open the Valves of Mithril, that it must be safe to take the sceptre.

Yes, it's obviously valuable and not obviously dangerous... at first. But if you attempt to remove the sceptre from the Tomb, you get hunted down by a demon!
