Comic #557

1 Smith: {hammering on a sword in front of his forge} As you can see, I'm using only the finest truesteel for your new sword.
1 Lambert: Yes, the quality is excellent. How much?
2 Smith: A mere 2000 gold pieces!
2 Lambert: Er... I see. Just a sec...
3 Lambert: {over with his companions} Do you have a few hundred I could borrow? Unfortunately, I seem to be a bit "short".
4 Lambert: Ho ho ho!
4 Alvissa: *groan*
4 Mordekai: At least it's not another stupid "hobbit" pun.

Now we get a closer look at the blacksmith. It looks like Lambert's ordered a new sword! They're really taking this quest seriously!

2013-08-09 Rerun commentary: I think Lambert is in for a rude shock. That sword has been forged!

It's interesting that Lambert himself makes "short" jokes. Self-deprecating humour at its lowest.
