I was looking at a web page the other day. It took ages to load, and ended up being quite short. Thinking that little information shouldn't take anywhere near that long to load, I took a peek at the source code, and found about a thousand lines of JavaScript designed to deal with the quirks of about a hundred different browsers.
Standards, who needs 'em!
