Comic #848

1 Alvissa: {on the bank of the might Elusian River} Actually, we don't need to cross the river. We're travelling upstream.
2 Alvissa: A culture of barge people ply their wares up and down the river. We should be able to flag down a barge and travel upriver with them.
3 Mordekai: Well until we see one, let's walk upstream along the bank so we're still making progress.
4 Lambert: That makes sense. How fast do these barges travel, anyway?
4 Alvissa: About walking pace.
4 Mordekai: Perfect!

I always liked the idea of a whole itinerant culture of nomadic people, somewhat similar to gypsies, who lived on river barges and travelled to and fro across a great fantasy continent.

I think we might actually be starting to learn more about the campaign world in which these characters live.

2014-07-15 Rerun commentary: Flagging down a passing barge would be a great way to travel, I reckon. Unless you're the sort of person they wouldn't touch with a barge-pole.
