In my actual space campaign, Serron is played by the same player who plays Kyros in my fantasy campaign. I think the similarity of personality shines through in this dialogue.
I also wanted to allude to the funeral of Spock in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, in which his body is fired out a torpedo tube to the strains of Amazing Grace.
(I don't consider this a spoiler. The next film is, after all, subtitled The Search for Spock, which has to rank right up there with The Return of the King in terms of giving away the main plot element with the title.)
