Comic #860

1 Alvissa: {spotting a barge coming along the river} Ah, good. Here comes a barge! Let's hail it. We'll need to negotiate a fare for passage.
2 Alvissa: These barge folk can be a bit wary of strangers. Try not to look too threatening or they may not stop.
3 Mordekai: But we're all carrying weapons. How can we look harmless?
4 Alvissa: Hmm, true. Lambert, you go wave them down.
4 Lambert: Hey!

2014-07-29 Rerun commentary: Hailing a barge is a lot easier than hailing a taxi. It's a lot harder for the driver to ignore someone when they can't roll their window up and their vehicle only moves at a speed of 3 knots.
