Kyros refers back to #853. This is the first Fantasy/Pirates crossover!
This strip was inspired by the perpetually unlucky pirates* in the Asterix comic series. I reckon any pirates attempting to take on our fantasy gang would be just as unfortunate.
* Actually, the pirates get away relatively unscathed in one of the stories.
