This is the new Living For Over 900 Years we heard about in #926. Gosh, the plot is really motoring along, isn't it?

2014-10-16 Rerun commentary: This reveals the reason for Yoda failing to die in the previous Star Wars strip, if you hadn't already worked it out. The Death strike is bleeding across all the themes, causing people not to be collected when they are ready to die.

Some ghosts do seem to decay over time. While some look just as they did in real life, there are also those ultra-spooky ghosts with half-rotted faces and dressed in rotting robes and stuff. One presumes they didn't actually look like that when they were alive, so they have probably had their ghost forms rotting away slowly.
