2015-05-02 Rerun commentary: Occasionally my installation of Firefox on my work computer (Windows 7) barfs and somehow seems to overwrite itself with a fresh install. This results in all my extensions vanishing and me having to reinstall them again. Which wouldn't be so bad except one of them is Zotero, which is where I keep all of my bibliographic data for the hundreds of scientific papers and patents that I need to keep track of for my work.

It's great for this. Except when Firefox barfs and loses all of my extensions.

Fortunately Zotero keeps the data in a configuration directory, which Firefox does not overwrite when it barfs, so I can re-import it again. The first time this happened it took me two days of panicking to work this out.
