Iki Piki hasn't had as much character development as the other space characters. I guess he's just the mysterious alien type.

2015-10-21 Rerun commentary: It was actually one of Iki Piki's character quirks in the real life roleplaying game on which these characters are based that he chews gum a lot. But this appears to be the only comic in which this habit is mentioned explicitly. It is somewhat alluded to in #1076, when Spanners finds three flavours of gum littering the ship. I included the gum in that list specifically because I knew about this previously unstated character trait of Iki's.

Maybe I should work this into a storyline somehow.
