2016-10-16 Rerun commentary: Like many people, no doubt, I bought a copy of the recently released Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play script so I could read it.
My review? Well, while it was definitely good to read some new Potterverse material with J.K. Rowling on the writing team, it actually felt somewhat like a fan-fic, rather than another Potter novel. Mostly because of the stage play format, I suspect, in which the action has to be seriously compressed to be viable. Basically, I would have preferred it as a novel rather than a play script, I think.
I could go into more details, but I'll avoid spoilers here.
