2018-10-29 Rerun commentary: Teleportation is a great way to travel. But it depends either on superscience technology or, as is the case here, magic.

Teleportation is a powerful ability to include in fiction, because it opens up so many ways to shortcut plots. The trick is to restrict its usage - don't make it available to the protagonists at whim.

Heck, don't even tell them about it until you have to.
