It's such a cliché, that of course there's a TV Tropes page all about it.
Herein subverted.
It can be interesting to examine how the legs of the walking character do or don't swap positions across the panels.
Monty: Left foot forward, left, right, right.
Ginny: Left, left, left, left.
Erwin: Right, right, left, left.
Haken: Right, right, right, right.
Although I suppose it's expected for Ginny to be on the far left, and Haken to be on the far right.
