I was tempted to do a one-two punchline by moving the last line into the third panel and having the fourth panel be:

Paris: Except now I can strangle you.

I decided that wasn't as funny overall, so dropped it.

2021-08-07 Rerun commentary: Sometimes I wonder what I'd do if I became a ghost.

Then I realise that usually the point of being a ghost is to endure some form of existential torment. So I give up on that idea pretty quickly.
