2012-07-20 Rerun commentary: I generated the vortex effect using the POV-Ray raytracing software. It's the interior of a torus, textured with a swirled rainbow pattern. I cut the resulting image out and inserted it into the photos. It creates a very cool effect, if I do say so myself.
