Comic #4168

1 {scene: next day, at school}
1 Mike: Will’s mother called my place this morning. She wanted to know if Will stayed over at my place.
2 Mike: ’Cos he wasn’t there for breakfast this morning. I said he went home last night. She thinks he must have left for school early.
3 Dustin: Yeah, that’s probably it. Because it’s the 80s and kids go to school by themselves.
4 Dustin: Although... without breakfast?
4 Lucas: Have you had her cooking?

There are two possibilities here. Will's mother cooks pancakes for breakfast (or at least tries to).

Or she's such a bad cook that she can even mess up pouring breakfast cereal and milk into a bowl.
