The 1980s was a great time, when kids could go wandering around the neighbourhood unsupervised - even if they needed to sneak out now and then - and solve mysteries and find aliens and prevent World War III and get involved in pirate treasure hunts, all without any adults ever having a clue what was going on.

I think kids basically ran the world back then.
