emeritus, adj. retired or honourably discharged from active duty because of age, infirmity, or long service, but retained on the rolls.
The Chair of Archaeology at Oxford University appears not to have a name in reality, so I chose to name it after Heinrich Schliemann (1822-1890), who was the guy who found and excavated Troy.
Disturbingly, Cambridge University has the Disney Chair of Archaeology. Named after an early 19th century barrister and collector of antiquities, but still...
