This strip took me longer to create than any other strip so far. The backgrounds in panels 2 and 3 are computer-generated using POV-Ray raytracing software. Unfortunately, I don't have a zeppelin handy for webcam photography.

2012-01-17 Rerun commentary: Ooh, look, actual backgrounds! And computer generated, to boot. As mentioned, I generated the background using the POV-Ray raytracing software. As not mentioned, the models are recycled from an entry I submitted for the Internet Raytracing Competition back in 1999. My entry was a render of the famous photograph of the Hindenburg going up in flames at Lakehurst, New Jersey. A render of that photo won that round of the competition! Only it wasn't my one.
